Original copies of this obscure, fully improvised '75 live date from Bill Cole, Sam Rivers, and Warren Smith. The set begins with Cole's reeds taking the high road, Rivers often holding down the low end, and Smith utilizing "little" percussion accents and occasionally dropping some thunder. The group really starts to burn and fly together on the second side, particularly when Rivers takes an extended run on the piano. As with many free jazz records from this period, the sound could be said to be a bit on the boomy side but it does the job. And how.
