Memphis' beloved Fieldstones provided the soundtrack for good times for many years on their town's soul/blues club scene. On this album they tackle a number of traditional tunes by artists such as Robert Johnson and Lightnin' Hopkins and reinterpret them in a more modern context, and also deliver funky instrumentals such as "The Squeeze". Cut in 1981 and '82, this release also marked the first LP on the High Water label, who subsequently put out records by RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Jessie Mae Hemphill, and Ranie Burnette, as well as a bunch other cool lesser knows, some of which we've got in stock.
